
Brock Kalim
Brock Kalim, also known as Brock T. Davis, is a multifaceted individual primarily known as a Contemporary Griot, Author, and Community Advocate. He is an author of poetry books and novels, with his work touching on various aspects of life, including social, self, emotional, and spiritual awareness. He is considered a "Contemporary Griot," meaning he uses spoken word poetry and writing to share stories and address social issues. Some of his works include "Crying Out," "Chronic Illness," and the "Tri-State" series.
He is the Founder and Executive Director of Kreative Minds INC, a non-profit organization focused on S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M./S.T.R.E.A.M. education and anti-gang intervention for inner-city youth and young adults. The organization's mission is to empower youth/young adults and close the achievement gap. Brock Kalim dedicates a portion of his books sales to organizations or individuals in need of support for mental health issues like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and Stockholm Syndrome.
He holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Radio Production and Television Production. He started writing poetry in his teenage years and is inspired by the world around him. His work has appeared in national poetry anthologies and online platforms featuring his spoken word performances.
In essence, Brock Kalim uses his creative talents and advocacy work to make a positive impact, particularly in supporting and empowering young people.
