• Program Description: This is an introductory creative writing course for poetry lovers who want to try their hand at writing their own poems. In each session, we will focus on a different “way in” to poetry, such as imagery, voice, and mood. We will study the masters, practice “creative play,” and craft original poems in response to writing prompts. Each session will give time for sharing and discussing model poems and those written by participants. The culminating event will be a poetry coffeehouse, as an opportunity to celebrate participants’ poetry.
