Dave Magyar
Work with Dave
Basically a field/street photographer, Dave Magyar’s work documents things we encounter everyday—the ordinary. Most of his subjects are realistically portrayed, though he also employs digital manipulation, such as composites and montage, to present a subject in a different light or to compress time or space. Sometimes his images focus more on the parts—patterns, textures, colors, shapes and forms—that make up our visual world rather than the whole.
Dave, a native of New Jersey currently living in Delaware, received a BA in fine arts at Montclair State College in New Jersey and a MFA degree from Pratt Institute, NYC. From 1970–2004, he pursued a career in art education. Dave has been actively showing his work in a variety of juried group shows, at galleries and museums in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware since 2005. His work has also been included in three literary publications: Rowan University’s 'Glassworks Magazine'; Delaware Art Museum’s 'Dreamstreets no 51'; and ’Light—A Journal of Photography & Poetry'.
