Dave Magyar
A native of New Jersey currently living in Delaware, Dave Magyar received a BA in fine arts at Montclair State and a MFA degree from Pratt Institute in NYC. From 1970 through 2004, he pursued a career in art education. During that time, he taught and supervised the fine arts programs in two New Jersey school districts. Dave has been actively showing his work in a variety of group shows at galleries and museums in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware since 2005.
In 2007 Dave received the von Holtzbrinck Coexistence Award for his entry in the New Brunswick Exhibition Coexistence art competition and an honorable mention award for an entry in the New York Center for Photographic Art’s international exhibit Water in 2013. In 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2020 he had work selected for inclusion in special Web exhibitions of The Photo Review’s International Photo Competition. In 2021 is work was selected for inclusion in The Photo Review's 2021 Competition publication. He has also received recognition for his participation in exhibits at the Rehoboth Art League, DE; Chestertown RiverArts, MD; Berks Arts Alliance, PA; New York Center for Photographic Art, NY; and Sussex Co. Arts and Heritage Council, NJ.
Publications featuring Dave’s work include Delaware Art Museum, Dreamstreets vol. 51; Rowan University, Glassworks Magazine and also in Light"”A Journal of Photography & Poetry.
