
Esther Hofknecht Curtis, MSM-HCA
Esther Hofknecht Curtis, MSM-HCA, is a mental health advocate, writer, artist, and healthcare professional with a deep passion for building inclusive, compassionate communities. She holds a Master of Science in Management in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, and she is a proud graduate of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School Academy for Women in Leadership (2025).
Esther is a trauma-informed teaching artist in Delaware. She specializes in gelli plate printing, watercolors, and collage, helping others explore creativity as a tool for healing and self-expression. With years of teaching experience, she creates welcoming spaces where people of all backgrounds can connect through art. She is available for classes in Delaware and welcomes opportunities to share the joy of creative expression.
Esther’s journey is one of resilience, advocacy, and empowerment. As a survivor of domestic violence and related mental health challenges, she understands firsthand the importance of mental health awareness, accessibility, and support. Diagnosed with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder more than 20 years into her career, she uses her lived experience to champion neurodiversity, trauma recovery, and mental health equity. She believes in the power of honest conversations, evidence-based decision-making, and compassionate leadership to create lasting change.
Esther brings this education and experience to all of her work, and seeks to help others develop their own artistic ability, style, and practice.

Creative Aging
Esther has received her Creative Aging certification through Lifetime Arts in 2023. She is ready and willing to provide up 1-3 hour classes for those that want to learn gelli plate printing, watercolors, and collage. Esther is known for her uplifting demeanor and enthusiasm for art and learning. Although she lives in Kent County, she will travel throughout Delaware to teach.
