Hosanna Lafazia
Zanna (AutonomousArt) is a self-taught visual artist whose work leans toward the abstract and the surreal. She recently stepped away from a career as a banker to follow her passion in creating art, and often shows and sells reproductions and originals at various Eastern Shore events.
Zanna's work predominately features bright, contrasting color schemes with a focus on the female form, often exhibiting a very emotional, flowing movement. Recurring objects such as ocean waves and sea life, snails, and simple wheels and spirals can be found in much of her work. The majority of her work in the past has been very complicated, requiring the viewer to step back and really look at the art, to take it in a bit at a time. A very common statement, especially from owners of Zanna's art, is that every time a person comes back to a piece and looks again, they see something new.
Since making the career move, change has been noticed in Zanna's work, specifically a trend toward simpler - although not necessarily less complex - art. She encourages anyone who has seen her work in the past to look again.
