Leon Alexander Wilson
As an emerging artist, I was encouraged to go to school for art. In high school, some of my artwork was exhibited at a university. I took a different path, joining the Navy and entering the I.T. industry. Since COVID, I have become a weekly participant in the Veterans: A Point of View / Healing Through the Arts program at the Delaware Art Museum.
These classes are teaching me the paint, pencil and pastel mediums, as have my many visits to museums, galleries, and studios. The colors of Evelyn DeMorgan’s Flora at DELART and Manet/Degas at THE MET inspire me. Elements of Art and The Life and Art of Toulouse-Lautrec at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia have been beneficial.
