Makeda Hampton
Dr. Makeda Hampton is an award-winning classical vocalist recognized for her artistry and pedagogical expertise in music. A 2025 Delaware Division of the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship recipient, she has performed on renowned stages, including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and London’s Royal Albert Hall. Her career features solo and collaborative appearances in concerts and recordings across the U.S. and internationally.
A passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Hampton has taught at several American universities and the prestigious AIMS summer music program in Graz, Austria. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Voice at Lincoln University and is the founder and director of CodaSwitch Vocal Arts, a private studio dedicated to fostering vocal excellence.
Dr. Hampton earned degrees from Oakwood University (AL), Westminster Choir College (NJ), and the University of Kentucky. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing Candy Crush.
