mark harris
Mark Harris is an artist – printmaker. His primary interest is in relief printing - using a variety of materials whose surfaces are marked, inked and impressed on paper. He studied watercolor technique with Carol Minarick in the 1970’s. In 2003 he acquired his first press and began working with type and woodblocks, with studios in Lewes and Milford. In 2011-12 he was a member of the Printmakers Workshop, Rehoboth Art League, Rehoboth. He has exhibited at the Rehoboth Art League, The Biggs, Delaware Contemporary, other local and regional galleries and in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was Artist in Residence at the Ecole Nationale des Arts in Port-au-Prince in 2014. He has lectured at St. Mary’s College and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on the political use of Art. He has work in the collection of the Delaware Art Museum and the Maryland Institute College of Art, and in the collections of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and St. Mary's College. He received an Artist Opportunity Grant in 2022 for the installation of a public art work, "A Thousand Thousand: a memorial to one million Covid deaths." He has conducted workshops at the Rehoboth Art League and the Milton Art Guild.
