Creative Aging
Designed to encourage skill building alongside community building, each class is 2 hours for 8 weeks, with a ninth week devoted to a culminating event (either a public exhibition of the work or a more private sharing session). Class size is up to 12 students. The fee is $3,800, which varies depending on distance, and includes supplies, teaching, curriculum development, travel, and the culminating event.
Fruits and Flowers: Drawing from Nature
In this gentle workshop open to all skill levels, students will explore various depictions of fruit and flowers in art history before exploring the subject on their own through a series of projects designed to discover various mediums and encourage individual expression.
Mindful Drawing
This class is designed to link the hand and the brain, the inner world with the outer world. In a series of projects inspired by the senses, meditation, and reflection, students will investigate a variety of drawing materials while embracing the present. Drawing is good for the brain too - it reduces stress, strengthens memory, and releases endorphins.
The Joy of Drawing
Embrace your inner artist in a class that encourages experimentation and self-expression. No experience is necessary in this introduction to various materials and unique approaches to drawing for the sake of joy. Materials used include pencil, charcoal, pen, ink, and watercolor and pastel.
