Artist Roster

Rick Burrow is a representational artist working in traditional oil paints on canvas and pen & inks on paper. Rick began as an artist in his early teens working in watercolor paintings and quill pen & ink drawings. His early works earned recognition in several juried shows of his home state.  

Rick also held a strong interest and desire to build and create functional things. This developed into a career and livelihood in Mechanical Engineering, and Rick became a recognized professional and subject matter expert in the design of machines, equipment, manufacturing capabilities, and consumer products for a leading health care company. Although creative art took a secondary role, the training and developed skills for engineering drawing and design became a unique complement to Rick’s early experience and learning in creative art. 

Having exited his engineering career, Rick returned to his early roots in the creative arts of painting and drawing, but with a medium shift from watercolors to oils, and the added experience of years in mechanical drawing and design.

As an established artist and oil painter in central Delaware, Rick's artistic eye for subject matters looks for insightful gems of composition that can be found in the seemingly ordinary and mundane life events that surround us all. Consequently, Rick’s body of works spans a wide range and variety of subject matters that are rendered in a developed style of realism that was influenced by the vitality and colorfulness of the early years in watercolors, and a level of realism and detail from his years in mechanical drawing and design. Rick is sought after for commissioned artwork, and several of his pieces are held in private art collectors. His artwork has also earned recognition in several juried shows in the Delaware area. However, his greatest joy is simply sharing his compositions and works of art.
