Blue Tulip
Shana, known artistically as Blue Tulip, is a singer, songwriter, comic book author, and visual storyteller whose work brings music and illustrated worlds together.
Her connection to music began early. Her family remembers her dancing to Bobby Brown’s “Every Little Step” at just one year old. Influenced by artists including Anita Baker, Mary J. Blige, Brandy, and Erykah Badu, Blue Tulip creates emotionally honest music shaped by love, reflection, vulnerability, and personal growth.
In the winter of 2022, she released her debut EP, "Indigo". The project was inspired by the emotional highs, uncertainty, and lasting lessons of a complicated relationship.
Her creativity also reaches beyond music. Growing up with younger brothers who loved X Men video games, Shana developed a strong connection to Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm. Seeing a powerful character who looked like her left a lasting impression and helped inspire her passion for comics and visual storytelling. Today, she combines music and comic book storytelling to create experiences that allow audiences to connect with characters, emotions, and stories in different ways.
The name Blue Tulip carries personal meaning. Blue is her favorite color, while tulips represent the love and care her father continues to show her, including through his thoughtful tradition of giving them to her. Through Blue Tulip, Shana creates space for people navigating anxiety, relationships, identity, and emotions that can be difficult to express.
