Stephen Terranova

Writer, Poet, and Teaching Artist

Stephen Terranova is a Delaware-based writer, poet, and teaching artist whose work explores the transformative power of storytelling, reflective writing, and creative expression. He is the creator of the Wayfinder Method, an arts-based reflective writing practice that uses narrative, poetry, and guided journaling to help individuals cultivate emotional awareness, resilience, and a deeper sense of personal meaning.

Working at the intersection of literary arts, wellness, and education, Stephen designs and facilitates expressive writing and poetry workshops for schools, recovery and mental health communities, and public arts programs. His work centers on creating safe and inclusive creative spaces where participants can process lived experience through language, reconnect with their inner voice, and discover new pathways toward growth, healing, and self-understanding. Through structured creative practice, he helps individuals transform personal narrative into a source of strength, insight, and artistic expression.

As a writer, Stephen’s work spans poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, often exploring themes of identity, loss, resilience, and the search for purpose. His novel The Absence of Light examines the human capacity for transformation in the face of suffering, while his ongoing poetic and literary work continues to investigate the relationship between story, memory, and meaning.

Stephen holds an MBA from Wilmington University and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Marketing from Cornell University. After nearly two decades in leadership roles within major financial institutions, he dedicated his work to the literary arts and community-centered creative practice. His teaching and artistic work emphasize accessibility, emotional literacy, and the belief that creative expression is a powerful catalyst for individual and collective transformation.

Grounded in his deep connection to Delaware and guided by a vision of expanding access to the literary arts, Stephen Terranova creates work that invites individuals and communities to discover voice, clarity, and possibility through the act of writing.
