Stephen Terranova

Poet, Writer, and Bookbinder

Stephen Terranova is a multifaceted artist based in Delaware, blending the worlds of poetry, fiction writing, and traditional bookbinding. As the founder of Twenty Two Gates LLC, Steve crafts the acclaimed Wayfinder Journals, a series of guided journals and planners designed to inspire reflection, creativity, and personal growth. His passion for storytelling and craftsmanship is evident in every meticulously hand-sewn notebook, planner, and journal he creates.

An accomplished poet and writer, Steve is the voice behind "Dispatches From Solitude," an anonymous poetry blog and Instagram account that has garnered a dedicated following for its raw and poignant verses. He is also compiling these early draft poems into a forthcoming print anthology under his publishing firm.

Steve’s literary journey began in the first grade when he started writing short stories. Today, he has a drafted novel and dozens of short pieces that explore a wide range of themes and experiences. His debut novel, The Absence of Light, delves into themes of addiction, love, loss, grief, and courage. Currently, he is working on a sequel that revisits the protagonist, Jason Harper, as he navigates his 40s.

Beyond his own creative pursuits, Steve is dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching environment for other writers and artists. He leads poetry workshops, facilitates writers' groups, and teaches the art of handmade bookbinding. His workshops and groups provide a nurturing space for participants to explore their voices, hone their craft, and share their stories.

Steve’s background includes significant roles in major financial institutions, a robust academic foundation with an MBA from Wilmington University and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Marketing from Cornell University, and a deep commitment to community service through volunteer work with organizations like the Delaware Symphony Association and UrbanPromise.

With a deep connection to his ancestral roots in Delaware and a vision for integrating storytelling and art into educational curriculums, Steve Terranova continues to inspire and uplift through his diverse artistic and literary endeavors.
