Timothy Joseph Barton
Tim Barton, formerly of Philadelphia, has lived in Lewes, DE, since 2021. He earned an AA in Fine Arts from SUNY in 1998 while serving in the US Navy Submarine Force from 1981 to 2001. After retiring, he worked at the Salem Nuclear Power Plant and retired as a Lead Emergency Preparedness Specialist from Constellation Energy. Tim has been creating art since 1996, focusing on 3D construction and found object sculpture. His work has been showcased in juried shows along the East Coast, earning awards like the Sarah Ethel Tunnell Best in Show at the 2023 Rehoboth Art League Annual Members Show. Tim’s process often reflects a sense of history and nostalgia, with compositions of artifacts and found objects arranged in custom-built boxes, cabinets, and frames exploring themes from his life and human experience. He is a member of the Rehoboth Art League and Philadelphia Dumpster Divers.
