Torrey Francis Malek is a poet and essayist whose work moves between deep personal reflection, nature-inspired lyricism, humor, and sharp-edged satire. His poetry has appeared in The Broadkill Review, Dreamstreets Magazine, and Plants & Poetry Journal, where he is a frequent contributor. In 2023, his work was shortlisted for the Letter Review Prize for Poetry. Malek’s literary path began with early recognition as Poet Laureate of Valley Forge Military Academy in 2009. Since then, he has continued to refine a voice that balances introspective, image-driven poetry with wit, irony, and civic imagination. Originally from Greenville, Delaware, Malek now resides in Newark, Delaware, where he remains active in the local literary and arts community. In addition to his writing, he is an ordained officiant with the Universal Life Church.
