Torrey Francis Malek
Torrey Francis Malek is a poet and essayist whose work moves between two distinct literary modes: one of deep personal reflection and nature-inspired lyricism, and another of humor and sharp-edged satire. His poetry has appeared in the Broadkill Review, Big Wing Review, and he is a frequent contributor to the Plants & Poetry Journal. In 2023, his work was recognized on the Shortlist for the Letter Review Prize for Poetry.
Malek’s literary journey began with early recognition as Poet Laureate of the Valley Forge Military Academy in 2009. Since then, he has continued to refine his craft, balancing introspective, image-driven poetry with a keen sense of wit and irony. His debut chapbook, Glory Hill—named after his childhood home—is set for publication in 2025.
In addition to his literary work, Malek is an ordained officiant with the Universal Life Church. Originally from Greenville, Delaware, he now resides in Newark, Delaware, where he remains an active voice in the local literary and arts community.
