Description

Kolaj Institute’s Montreal: City as Archive Artist Lab is a five-day, in-person intensive where collage artists use place as a laboratory. Based at Atelier Galerie 2112 in Montreal’s Gay Village, artists will explore neighborhoods, histories, material culture, and the role of artist research in making work about place. Through presentations, site visits, walks, studio time, and discussion, participants will develop artwork and proposals for larger projects or bodies of work. Artists will also become members of Kolaj Institute’s Place as Archive Project and receive curatorial and community support after the Lab.
