Audition for The Carol Burnett Show
Ages: Open to all Adults 18+
About the Show: This uproarious variety-sketch revue celebrates the legendary comedic genius of Carol Burnett and her ensemble of iconic characters. Set across a tapestry of movie parodies, musical spoofs and off-the-wall sketches, the show blends razor-sharp satire with heartfelt warmth and show-stopping performances. From biting commercial send-ups and vaudevillian set-pieces, this production offers something for every performer and audience.
With generous casting opportunity and a pace that keeps the laughs coming, this show invites actors to take risks, play opposite comedy-savvy colleagues and delight our community with a riotous good time.
Performance Dates: Jan 15 | 16 | 17 | 18 at 7:30pm
Audition Dates: You may arrive at any time between the start and end time. Attendance throughout the duration of the audition is not needed.
Thurs Nov 6 from 6:30-9:30pm. Check in at the Annex.
OR
Sun Nov 9 from 6:30-9:30pm. Check in at the Gibby Center for the Arts.
Audition: Prepare a short, comedic monologue (2 minutes or less). And, prepare to do some cold readings with others. We’re looking for people with a mix of timing, heart, and a total commitment to the bit ~ make us laugh!
Rehearsals: Minimal rehearsals in Nov/Dec. Complete schedule will be shared after casting.
Cast must be available Tech Week Jan 11 - 14 and all performances
Important Information:
- In-person auditions are preferred; however, video auditions will be accepted until 9pm on Sunday, November 9. Email info@TheEverett.org. Please introduce yourself and include a video of your short, comedic monologue (2 minutes or less).
- No conflicts during tech rehearsals. 1/11 to 1/14 rehearsals are mandatory
- As a volunteer-based nonprofit organization, The Everett depends on the support of our performers' friends and family in positions such as box office, ticket taker, concessions, and ushers. As a thank you for assisting in these key roles, volunteers are able to enjoy the show for free.
- All performers are required to attend set strike immediately following the last performance.
