ASSISTANT REGISTRAR - ATELIER DELAWARE
The Assistant Registrar is an integral member of the team responsible for the documentation of and workflow associated with managing works of art and other property entrusted to Atelier Fine Art Services, LLC at its two Delaware warehouse locations, as well as in the field.

Atelier has over 220,000 square feet of museum-quality storage facilities in Philadelphia, New York and New Castle, DE; custom crate fabrication shops in Philadelphia and New York City; and a full fleet of climate-controlled, air-ride vehicles. Our 140+ person team includes experts in the areas of Client Services, Logistics, Operations, Art Handling, Registration, Fabrication, Storage and Security.

Salary Range: $49,275 - $52,489 yearly commensurate with experience
Primary responsibilities:
- Act as liaison between Client Services, Logistics, and Storage staff to coordinate the receipt and/or release of property at its Delaware locations.
- Document items entering storage to ensure that the data Atelier maintains is accurate, consistent, retrievable, and up-to-date.
- Act as lead registrar for large collection moves into/out of long-term storage.
- Conduct regular inventory location audits to confirm the reliability of data; produce client inventories.
- Examine objects and produce detailed condition reports
- With the Director of Registration, develop, implement, and disseminate procedures designed to streamline and systematize inventory management at all Atelier storage facilities.
- Other duties include producing storage agreements, receipts, and labels for incoming works of art, general art handling support, and other duties as may be required.
Essential Requirements:
- BA in Fine Art, Art History, Museum Studies, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years verifiable experience in fine art registration or administration.
- Extensive computer experience and mastery of standard office software.
- Facility with collection management database systems.
- Extensive art-handling experience and familiarity with collection care standards and industry best practices related to fine art storage methods and materials.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented work habits.
- Ability and willingness to travel between Atelier locations and to work in the field as necessary.
- The work may require standing or walking for up to two hours at one time for eight hours per day; sitting for less than two hours at one time. Physical ability to lift or carry 25lbs, frequently use hands for simple grasping or pushing or pulling; occasionally bend, squat, climb, reach overhead; and ability to work on ladders and ability to maintain balance.
- A valid driver's license.
Preferred Requirements:
- MA in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field.
- Experience with digital photography and Photoshop.
Work Schedule and Location:
- M-F 8:30AM-4:30PM, with occasional late or weekend hours (this position is exempt from overtime).
- The Assistant Registrar will be based primarily in Delaware, but is expected to work from the Philadelphia location on occasion, as special projects require.
- The successful candidate must pass a background check and a TSA Threat Assessment.
