The Delaware Poets Almanac, through its nonprofit organization Delaware Poets, Inc., is seeking 10 to 15 volunteer beta readers for two upcoming late-summer and fall poetry contests.
Selected readers will assist with the review of submitted poems. The judging process will be conducted blind, and beta readers will not be permitted to submit their own work to any contest for which they are reading. Applicants will be asked to provide credentials and a brief résumé. Delaware residency is not required. The number of poems assigned to each reader will depend on the total number of contest submissions and the number of selected beta readers. Each reading period will last no more than two weeks. Reading may begin as early as July 20 and conclude as late as September 12, depending on the contest schedule and when the submission cap for each contest is reached.
