FINE ART STORAGE ASSISTANT, ATELIER DELAWARE
The Atelier Delaware Storage Assistant is an integral member of the storage team responsible for upholding a high standard of quality, safety, organization, knowledge and cleanliness of the Atelier Fine Art Storage Facilities in New Castle Delaware, known as Atelier Delaware.

Atelier FAS has several museum-quality storage facilities on the East Coast, and employs staff in the areas of Client Services, Logistics, Operations, Art Handling, Registration, Fabrication, Storage and Security.
Reports to: Atelier Delaware Facilities Managers and Directors
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM generally
Job Type: Full Time - Hourly (With Benefits)
Pay Range: $20 - $23.50 /hr (commensurate with experience)
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist Atelier Delaware's Managers and Directors with the daily operation of both Atelier Delaware storage facilities, including but not limited to:
- Proactively and routinely cleaning the interior and exterior of the facility in addition to organizing supplies and equipment
- Receiving and releasing shipments safely and with appropriate paperwork
- Packing and unpacking artwork
- Condition reporting artwork
- Escorting and monitoring clients, vendors and guests
- Moving objects around storage ensuring safest placement and space maximization - including large heavy objects
- Installing and configuring racking and cage units
- Operating a 3,000 lb capacity electric order picker safely in a tight warehouse
- Operating other lifts such as scissors lifts, forklifts and other equipment
- Safely handling various types of art, furniture and artifacts
- General building maintenance, improvement, and repair
- Under the direction of senior storage staff, update registration and inventory details regarding long term storage items as well as incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Interacting with clients in a professional manner about the care of their property
- Working safely at a height (up to 35 feet) on lifts, scaffolds and racking
- Work in one of two facilities on either sides of the industrial park as needed
- BA in Fine Art, Art History, Museum Studies, or related field preferred
- At least one year of demonstrated art-handling or related experience; familiarity with museum standards and best industry practices related to the safe handling and storage of artwork and artifacts preferred
- Meticulous work habits and attention to detail
- Ability to use moving equipment such as pallet jacks, J-bars, dollies and lifts
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a productive team member.
- Physically capable of lifting objects weighing up to 80 pounds; physically capable of moving objects weighing up to 150 pounds; and physically capable of climbing ladders up to 20 feet and working on scaffolding and lifts of at least 30 feet; physically capable of using hand tools such as drills, hammer, screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches.
- Ability to use hand and power tools and work on high lifts and ladders
- Basic computer skills required; familiarity with iOS (Apple) devices such as iPads and iPhones. Familiarity with databases and registration is a plus
- Have vehicle and a valid driver’s license and ability to run occasional errands to local stores
- Ability to adhere to dress code including uniform shirts and dark jeans, black jeans, dark pants or khaki pants or long shorts
- The successful candidate must pass a background check and a TSA Threat Assessment
Atelier defines full-time as 32+ hours/week. Full-time employees are eligible to receive benefits (medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, Dep Care FSA, Vol Life, Commuter Benefits, Worksite Benefits etc.) the first of the month after 60 days of employment, with Atelier covering two-thirds of health premiums. Dependent coverage is available at full-price.You become eligible for our 401(k) with a 2% match after 90 days (at the start of the following quarter). Additionally, we offer overtime, double time, shift differentials, sick pay, and 8 paid holidays.
