Description

The New Castle County Art Studio is looking for an experienced and passionate Pottery Teacher to join our Creative Community. The position is part of a team of pottery instructors who run our successful Pottery Studio class. Daytime and evening availability is required year-round. All classes are held at The Art Studio located at 310 Kiamensi Road, Wilmington, DE. If you have a love for clay and a knack for teaching, we want to hear from you.

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching ceramics to adults in a fast-paced studio.
  • Knowledge of ceramic equipment.
  • Ability to lead a group of students.
  • Enthusiastic with strong communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple students, with various skill levels, at one time.
  • Teach pottery techniques to beginners and advanced students.
  • Guide students in hand-building, wheel-throwing, and glazing.
  • Flexible and able to work well as a team with other Pottery Instructors.
  • Assist with studio maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Experience with both low firing (for bisque and glaze firings) and high firing.
