Call Description
The Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover, Delaware, is pleased to announce the call for the 2026 Members' Exhibition showcasing the artwork of our museum members.
Artwork may be in any medium, including (but not limited to) painting, photography, sculpture, works on paper, textiles, ceramics, metalwork, jewelry, and woodworking. Juror(s) will select an exhibition with engaging and creative content and the highest level of craftmanship. The exhibition will be displayed on the Museum’s 3rd floor from July 9-September 6, 2026. This show is an opportunity for both established artists and emerging creative talents who may be looking to share their work for the first time.
Application Requirements
Up to 3 works may be entered
All media are eligible, including alternative media
Artwork must be original (no reproductions, with exceptions made for digital works)
Artwork must have been made in the last two years, and not previously shown at The Biggs
Two-dimensional work must be suitably framed and ready for hanging. All other work must be installation ready with instructions if necessary.
There is no size restriction, though larger works may be assessed for effective use of scale and logistical considerations
All artwork must be for sale. The Biggs will take a 30% commission for all sales.
Eligibility Criteria
Open to current members of the Biggs Museum of American Art at the Advocate, Ambassador, Catalyst, and Biggs Society (paid) levels. Explorer (free) level members, lapsed members, and non-members are not eligible. If you are not a current eligible member, you may become one through the Museum’s website PRIOR TO ENTRY. SELECTION: During the selection process, juror(s) will consider the following elements when making their decisions: exceptional use of media, rendering of subject matter, effective use of color and contrast, originality of content, overall concept, strong use of composition, craftmanship, and presentation.
DEADLINES: Entry will close at 11:59pm EST on Monday, May 25, 2026. Applications cannot be modified once submitted. Notifications will be sent via email by 5:00pm EST on Monday, June 1st. No phone inquiries, please.
