Biggs Museum of American Art is seeking a talented and creative mural artist to design and execute a temporary indoor mural that will transform our space and engage our community. This project offers a unique opportunity to showcase your artistic vision in a high-traffic public setting.
PROJECT DETAILS
• Location: Biggs Museum of American Art, 406 Federal St, Dover , DE
• Theme: Open to creative ideas (It would be nice to tie to the Biggs Collection & our community but it’s not a necessity)
• Dimensions: 28 X 7 Feet: (Landscape)
• Medium: Temporary, non-damaging materials (e.g., removable paint, vinyl, or other adaptable media)
• Timeline: Project Installation to begin Mid-April.
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
• Open to all local artists – may be an individual or a group. Schools are encouraged to apply.
• Must use non-permanent materials suitable for an indoor environment
• Ability to complete the project within the designated timeline
• Willingness to collaborate with our team and incorporate community input if applicable
HOW TO APPLY
Interested artists should submit the following to Kate.Huffman@theBiggsMuseum.org by March 28.
1. Portfolio (3–5 relevant work samples)
2. Artist Statement (briefly describe your artistic approach and experience)
3. Concept Proposal (sketch or description of your vision for the mural)
4. Budget Estimate (materials, labor)
