Description

Dear Friends,

I am very pleased to announce the return of Summer in the Parks, bringing free arts experiences to neighborhoods throughout the City of Wilmington. The Grand is proud to continue this valued tradition in partnership with the Department of Parks & Recreation. Together, we will identify park locations where we will offer engaging lunchtime activities for children (11:00 AM–12:00 PM), as well as diverse evening events for families (6:00–7:30 PM).

Attached, please find two Artist RFPs — one for daytime programming and one for evening performances. For daytime programs, we are seeking artists who can provide high-quality, hands-on arts experiences for youth of varied ages and are comfortable with engaging in large groups. For evening events, we welcome solo artists as well as small and large groups. Production needs will be considered to ensure the best fit for each site.

If you are interested in participating in Summer in the Parks this year, please complete and return the appropriate RFP form by Friday, May 1, 2026. If you know of artists who would be a strong fit for this program, we encourage you to share the RFPs with them.

Please note that this communication does not guarantee a contract. Final scheduling will depend on the quality and alignment of proposed activities, budget considerations, and the best match for each park location and participating community.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are always excited to discover and support new talent.
