Art Workshop: Whimsical Masterpieces
Join local artist John Donato as he teaches a fun, engaging, and empowering artistic experience for adults who would like to investigate their creative potential while building a basic level of mastery using oil pastels.
This artistic journey will provide an approachable and challenging entry-level environment to gain a basic command of oil pastel painting. Over an eight-week period (one hourly class a week) participants will be actively engaged in producing their own final artwork under the guidance of a professional teaching artist. In addition, participants will investigate idea creation, personal style, and finishing techniques, and have access to ongoing social support from their teacher and peers.
Participants will have the opportunity to be recognized and reveal their artwork to the public during a Library event, and have it displayed onsite for an extended period. Their artwork will also be displayed on the Library website and the teaching artist website for sharing. This program is for adults only.
Registration is required for this program, and space is limited. Participants should try to attend every class. Please register online or by calling the Georgetown Public Library at 302-856-7958 and leave a message with your name, phone number, and email.
This program is funded by the Delaware Division of the Arts as a part of its’ Access Creative Aging program, a community-based arts education program designed for adults ages 55+. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on DelawareScene.com.
Presented by Georgetown Public LIbrary.
