Music of Golden Age Portugal & Spain
The "Siglo de Oro" (Age of Gold) resounded with music of the ministriles - the wind band players who were the treasure of Portugal & Spain. Piffaro pays homage to our forebears with glorious music from this time - or some of what still exists. Discover music by the biggest stars of the era (Francisco Guerrero, Cristóbal de Morales) alongside some of the rare gems to survive the Lisbon earthquake of 1755. We’ll open our own treasure chest of renaissance wind instruments for the concert: shawms, dulcians, sackbuts, and more!
Youth & full-time students attend for free.
Presented by Piffaro, The Renaissance Band.
