Lafayette Bicentennial - Delaware
Sunday, October 6, 2024, The Bicentennial of Lafayette’s Farewell Tour will arrive in Delaware!
Celebrating the original 1824 Farewell Tour honoring the Marquis de Lafayette, a revered American Revolutionary War general, Delaware will witness the return of history in America. Visit local Delaware sites that Lafayette traversed in 1824 as we connect the past and the present for a must-see experience. Discover the life and legacy of this remarkable man who helped shape our country.
Please join us in celebrating this historic event! Delaware Lafayette Farewell Tour locations include:
- Robinson House 11:30am - 4:00pm
- Brandywine Village 12:00pm - 3:00pm
- Old Town Hall 10:00am - 4:00pm
- Amstel House 4:00m - 6:00pm
Each Delaware location will host numerous events including colonial regiments and demonstrations, guest speakers, color guards, children’s activities, singers, musicians, dancers, exhibits, tours, gift vendors, food, drink, and more. And of course, at each location, a visit from the Marquis de Lafayette himself!
