The Beat Is the History: Discover the Heartbeat of the Americas Through Music
Join us for an immersive journey through time and sound with "The Beat is the History," a unique workshop that brings the rich, polyrhythmic beats of the Americas to life. This educational program, presented by the non-profit organization Echoes and Footprints in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, delves into the vibrant confluence of the African diaspora, geography, and human expression that defines the music of the Americas. The program includes musical selections, hands-on activities, and an instrument exhibit of over 30 vintage contemporary musical instruments integral to the music of the Americas, which participants will have the opportunity to experience through touch and sound.
Registration is required. For more information about Echoes and Footprints, please visit https://www.echoesandfootprints.com/.
