OperaDelaware presents Puccini's La bohème
In Puccini’s breathtaking La bohème, struggling artists and dreamers in 19th-century Paris collide in a whirlwind of love, jealousy, heartbreak, and hope.
Performances at The Grand Opera House
October 25 | 7:30 PM
October 27 | 2 PM
The poet Rodolfo and painter Marcello are roommates and the epitome of Bohemians - struggling artists who resort to burning their art and furniture to keep warm in the cold winter months. When Mimì, a neighbor and seamstress, knocks on Rodolfo’s door in need of a light for her candle, the chemistry between the two could light the city of Paris ablaze. But is love enough to overcome the cruelty of poverty and disease? Or will the flame that burns between them flicker and die when faced with the harsh reality of life?
