The Foxy Mrs. Bumpstead-Leigh
written by Scott F. Mason
based on the play “Mrs. Bumpstead-Leigh” by Harry James Smith
directed by Susie Moak
The liberal thinking, bigger-than-life, titular character (and her somewhat dotty mother) are British nobility finalizing the engagement of her younger sister to the son of a wealthy matriarch in the Hamptons, Long Island. But, in this constantly twisting comedy set in the ever-changing 70s, nothing is at is appears. Add a maid with her own agenda, a confused butler, nosey neighbors, a stoner, and a scheming cemetery landscaper, and only the cunningly quick-witted Bumpstead-Leigh can save the day (and her face).
Presented by Chapel Street Players.
