Performing Shakespeare: A Weekend Crash Course
For many years, Del Shakes has been creating vibrant, relatable, actor-centered productions of Shakespeare’s works. Now, join new Artistic Director, Mariah Ghant, and Artistic Squad members, Eric Mills and izzy sazak, for a two-day workshop as they share their unique blend of ideas, techniques, and collaboration that lead to such memorable performances.
Areas of instruction include: text analysis, physicalizing the text, making Shakespeare your own, and more.
The workshop is great for performers who want to dip their toes into acting Shakespeare, or actors with more experience who are looking for a brush-up.
REQUIREMENT: Please bring a 1-2 minute Shakespeare monologue that you are familiar with (memorized is preferred). If you don't have a monologue, the instructors can help you select a piece prior to class.
Date: Saturday, November 16 – 10am to 4pm; Sunday, November 26 – 11am to 3pm
Price: $135
There is an additional $2.50 processing fee.
