Join the Wilmington Handbell Ensemble as they ring in the holiday season at the Woodlawn Library!
December 2024 is the tenth anniversary of the Wilmington Handbell Ensemble's CD entitled "A Little Bit of Christmas." To mark the occasion, they will feature these holiday favorites once again on their winter concert program: Ukrainian Bell Carol Fantasy, Change Ring Prelude on 'Divinum Mysterium,' Masters in This Hall, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Greensleeves, Come All Ye Shepherds, Carol of the Wise Men, God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen, The First Noel, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Jingle Bell Boogie, We Wish You a Merry Christmas and for an encore, Wassail Song.
Wilmington Handbell Ensemble was founded by Michael Helman in 2000 and is the only community based handbell ensemble in Wilmington. Membership is by audition or invitation and the group draws from various church bell choirs in New Castle County. The purpose of the Wilmington Handbell Ensemble is to educate and introduce audiences to the beautiful and varied repertoire for handbells as well as promote excellence in musicianship among its members.
