National Library Week Book Discussion: The Library Book (Orlean)
On the morning of April 29, 1986, a fire alarm sounded at the Los Angeles Public Library. By the time the fire was extinguished, it had consumed 400,000 books and damaged 700,000 more; but more than 30 years later, the fire's origin still remains a mystery.
Join us for a discussion of The Library Book by Susan Orlean, and delve into the unsolved mystery of the most catastrophic library fire in American history.
Participants should have read the book before the discussion. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the circulation desk.
