"The Lusty Month of May" - Poetry at the Mansion
“That lovely month when ev'ryone goes blissfully astray,” wrote Alan Jay Lerner in Camelot. Rockwood’s Poet in Residence, David P. Kozinski, will read and talk about poems of love and lust by John Donne, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Robert Lowell and others, as well as a few of his own. Special guest poet, Scholastic Writing Awards multi-winner Katelyn Pei will read from her work. Katelyn Pei is a 10th grader at Sanford School. A National Gold Medalist and American Voices Medal recipient in the Scholastic Writing Awards, she writes to explore memory, emotion, and the quiet spaces between words. She sees writing as thought made visible—fragile, precise, and luminous. Outside of writing, she loves learning about new cultures and languages. She is trilingual in English, Chinese, and French.
