Edible Plants for the Conscientious Gardener Lecture at UD Botanic Gardens
Nonmembers: $20; (UDBG Members: FREE)
Want to grow beautiful and delicious plants while supporting local ecology? This talk will highlight edible plant species for home landscapes that thrive in our region and provide beneficial ecosystem services, while also helping you avoid invasive species that may cause unintended harm. We will cover a wide spectrum of plant options from both culinary and land stewardship perspectives. The goal is to help you grow a “garden of eating” that will delight your taste buds and make a positive impact on the world around you! This is our Spring Member Lecture, offered free to current UDBG members and available to the public with a ticket purchase ($20).
Pandora Young has over two decades of experience working at Longwood Gardens, including 18 years as the horticulturist for Peirce’s Woods, a 7-acre display garden showcasing plants native to Eastern North America. They received a B.A. in Japanese Studies with a minor in Biology from Earlham College, IN. Over the years, Pandora has taught many classes and led tours focusing on native and edible plants.
