Description:
The abundance of wildlife and ever changing ecosystem of Tangier Island
Bios:
Welcome to Tangier Island and the surrounding Chesapeake
Bay habitats, my name is Cameron Evans.
Growing up on Tangier and having worked the waters with my dad, I very much appreciate and more importantly embrace the unique history and lifestyle of Tangier Island. I began documenting the bay when I was a young teenager. As a recent graduate of Virginia Wesleyan University, my love of photography as it pertains to capturing environmental and still life photographs has grown.
Now as a professional photographer and licensed Coast Guard Captain, I share my life through my photography, Eco-tours, photography workshops, crabbing trips, and excursions out on the bay. With the ever changing habitats and land loss due
to coastal erosion, I joined Tangier's town council serving as the vice mayor from 23'-24'. By doing so I began to help give back to my community through efforts of trying to protect nesting habitats and make change instead of just capturing the changes through my photography!
