Painting to Music
Visual Artists have always been influenced by music and vice versa. The "Nocturnes" painted by Whistler was inspired by Chopin's solo piano compositions of the same name. Piet Mondrian's "Broadway Boogie Woogie" by the popular jazz music of the day! Gallery One artists have taken the concept too. Laura Hickman use Brazilian Bossa Nova, a favorite from childhood to listen to and create her current pastel "Bossa Nova Beach"
Where as Laurie Fields created a mixed media piece using melted wax so the match the beat of the music in her piece "Sway"
This is a sampling of the 16 local artists that show at Gallery One.
