Founded in 1901 by the New Century Club, Laurel Public Library sits at the heart of town. Our current two-story building is a recent expansion of the original 1950's structure, with ample facilities for collections, programming and technology. The Board put aside a portion of the Capital Campaign fund to maintain the building. Keeping pace with patron needs, we have approximately 56,000 print and electronic resources, 12 public computers and a large Community Room, serving over 12,500 patrons.
Our mission statement is - Connect. Create. Inspire. - and we strive to improve the quality of life in our community by providing a safe and welcoming place where anyone can pursue reliable information and personal enrichment. We offer a wide variety of programs and activities, designed to meet the unique needs of our community.
