REHOBOTH BEACH INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL - 26th ANNIVERSARY
CALL FOR FILMMAKERS AND ARTISTS
November 6 - 10 at Three Theater Venues
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society (RBFS) proudly presents its award-winning 26th Anniversary Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival (RBIFF) on November 6-10, 2024. Launched in 1998, the Festival is one of the longest-running in the United States and has stood the test of time as a must-attend international event right here in Sussex County, DE. As in past years, attendees will make the journey from multiple states and the surrounding mid-Atlantic region. Directors, producers, and writers travel from around the U.S. and the globe to share their films and stories with festival attendees.
What’s New This Year! In addition to the Cinema Art Theater and the Unitarian Universalists of Southern DE screening locations, the Society has added a third venue, Possum Point Players Community Theatre in Georgetown. Possum Point Players will deliver an exceptional performance art experience in its spacious 185 seat community theatre. “Adding the third program venue, expands the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival to residents of Georgetown enabling the Society to achieve its mission to share cinema with people of all-diverse backgrounds.” said Helen M. Chamberlin, Executive Director, Rehoboth Beach Film Society.
FILM SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED!
Submit your film via the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival’s Film Freeway platform: https://filmfreeway.com/RehobothBeachIndependentFilmFestival). A jury panel composed of film industry professionals will review and select a list of film titles to be featured as part of the five-day film festival. The RBIFF program will include 28-30 first-run titles across all genres including documentaries, narrative feature, shorts, along with the BLUE HEN Regional Showcase category (new!), which will recognize a local filmmaker. Awards have been expanded to include Best Cinematography, Best Costume and the Best Fan Pick in addition to the traditional film categories.
FESTIVAL ARTWORK CONTEST IS NOW OPEN! Deadline is July 26!
In keeping with the Society’s 25-year tradition, the ‘Call for Artwork’ submission contest is now underway (deadline for submission is July 26). Artists must submit an original work that focuses on the theme of cinema. A panel of judges will review submissions, and the winning artist is announced on August 6. The artwork becomes the festival centerpiece adorning the cover of the 2024 Festival Program which is distributed to more than 32,000 businesses, residents, and attendees. The winning artist can also expect to see their work on all festival merchandise too. Information and submission guidelines are available at the RBFS website: https://www.rehobothfilm.com/rehoboth-beach-independent-film-festival.
