Rehoboth Beach Film Society
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society (incorporated 1998) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is promoting the cinematic arts and providing education and cultural enrichment for our community. The Film Society operates the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes, which offers first-run, independent films year-round, several mini-film festivals, theme-oriented film series, special screenings, simulcast Metropolitan opera performances, National Theatre Live, and much more. Several programs are coordinated in collaboration with other community-based organizations. The Film Society’s signature event is the award-winning Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival which takes place every November. This 7-day event presents the best U.S. and international features, documentaries, and shorts.
The RBFS website features its weekly “Now Playing" and “Coming Soon" schedules, a membership section and ticketing platform.
In 2023, The Society is celebrating 25 years of sharing cinema as the only Art House in Sussex County. Volunteers are always welcomed.
