Coffee House concert series
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, Delaware Friends of Folk will present their monthly coffee house concert in the Dover Art League, 21 W. Loockerman St. in Dover, beginning at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 7:00 and admission is $7 for members of Delaware Friends of Folk, $10 for non-members, teens are half-price, and those 12 and under are admitted free. Fresh-brewed coffee, baked cookies, and other snacks will be available. Seating may be limited.
The featured act will be Delaware native Sug Daniels. The one-time member of Hoochi-Coochi relocated to Philadelphia several years ago to hone her songwriting, storytelling, and producing skills. Sug uses these tools to capture the emotions of her era. Her work is as colorful, vulnerable, and charismatic as her personality. She thoughtfully combines elements of folk, rock, and soul alternatives to create personal and tender music interlaced with messages of truth and positive change. Sug’s single release with Don Giovanni Records "When I'm Gone" garnished well deserved attention from local and regional radio and venues. After several years of touring and supporting acts such as Sarah Shook & The Disarmers, Molly Tuttle, and Adeem The Artist, she is working on her debut studio album set to be released in the spring of 2025.
Opening the evening will be local singer-songwriter Caroline Hermance. Born and raised in central Delaware, Caroline is a classically trained vocalist known for her captivating songwriting, one-liners, and down-to-earth concert atmosphere. With a unique sound influenced by Alt Rock, musical theater, pop, and R&B, Caroline’s original music is suited for all ages and a diverse audience.
Delaware Friends of Folk events are supported in part by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
