Join the UD Wind Ensemble for our annual Concerto Winners Concert. This year's concert will feature Samuel Worst playing Anthony Barfield's trombone concerto "Red Sky" and Nicholas Danseglio playing Mike Mower's Flute Concerto! In addition, the Wind Ensemble will perform a work by student composer AJ Perry, Roshanne Etezady's evocative "Anahita" and more!
Nicholas Danseglio is a fourth year student at the University of Delaware, and is currently obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Flute Performance. Nicholas has been playing the flute for twelve years. Originally from Long Island, NY, he studied with flutist and educator Alison Hubbard throughout middle and high school. Since arriving at UD, Nicholas has participated in performing with the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Chamber and Symphony Orchestras, as well as a variation of woodwind and string chamber groups. After graduation, Nicholas plans on pursuing a Master’s in Flute Performance in the 2026 school year, with hopes to also pursue a PhD. With heavy inspiration from his professor, Eileen Grycky, Nicholas looks forward to eventually building a career in academia as a professor of his respective instrument. He plans to do so while simultaneously building his business, as well as performing regularly as an orchestral flutist.
Samuel Worst is currently an Instrumental Music Education Major here at the University of Delaware. A junior in his degree track, Samuel has had the opportunity to perform in many settings both on and off campus. Additionally, Samuel has performed in the University’s Jazz ensembles, Trombone Choir, UD Slides, and is the resident trombone of Blue Hen Brass, the undergraduate brass quintet. Off-campus, Samuel has had the opportunity to perform in the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra as well as various pit orchestras. When not in class, Samuel can be found working as part of the School of Music’s technical operations crew. Samuel is set to graduate in the Spring of 2026 and plans to attend further schooling for a Master’s Degree in Trombone Performance.
