Intro to Watercolor

Description: Students will learn the basics of this unique medium, one of the most useful learning tools for virtually all artistic practices. They will explore the fundamentals of art and design through implementation of skills related to brush and wash techniques, color mixing, planning and observation. Students will learn about supplies, paper and brush preparations. Students will learn various techniques such as wet to dry, color mixing, washes, and textures as well as the importance of whites, lights and darks. They will then use their skills to engage with fundamental concepts in art and design. Projects will include several landscapes, several still life scenes and abstract works.
