The Pencader Heritage Area Association and the Pencader Museum are dedicated to showcasing and preserving the history of the peoples and lifestyles of Pencader Hundred. We are open first and third Saturdays of each month and dedicated volunteers are there to answer your questions.Â
Our mission is to provide an enriched educational program about the Pencader Area, preserve open spaces, green ways, and historically significant parcels, artifacts and buildings, and attract people to Pencader Hundred and other history-rich sites in the Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania areas. Â
Our historical collections include the history of Cooch's Bridge Battleground which saw British and Hessian troops fight against the American colonialists as well as memorabilia from other wars including World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. There is also an important collection of Delaware historical facts and artifacts throughout the museum. Â
Since the museum is funded by various grants and our membership, we depend on volunteers to help us open the doors to the museum on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
