Kuumba, meaning creativity in Swahili, is an elementary school that was granted its charter in 1999. Founded by Christina Cultural Arts Center, Kuumba opened its doors to students in September 2001. Kuumba serves students in grades K thru 5 and is proud to be rated as a Superior school. Kuumba Academy Charter School is located at 519 N Market St in Wilmington, Delaware's cultural district. It offers a comprehensive variety of programs and services for all ability levels to meet the diversity of its students. In addition to core content areas and technology instruction, Kuumba Academy's arts integrated curriculum includes music, drama, dance and visual arts, as well as citizenship and health. We stress to our students the importance of all instruction for the success of their future.
