Our History & Vision

Founded in 1967, the Lewes Senior Center held its earliest meetings in the basement of the Lewes Presbyterian Church. Consistent with its mission, LSC became a place for Seniors to connect and share with each other their common interests, differing opinions, experiences and more and it's why we were the place where "Friends By The Sea" gather and grow.

Currently, our vision is to be the premier Senior Center in Sussex County by developing state-of-the-art programs that not only meet the needs of its members, but also make a difference in the Lewes and surrounding communities. Our updated name, Lewes Senior Activity Center, and our modernized and expanded facilities reflect our goal to provide an environment that promotes staying active after 50.
