LIT for the Holidays: Delaware's Changing Winter Landscapes
Celebrate the winter season with LIT for the Holidays: Delaware's Changing Winter Landscapes!
Our seasonal exhibit "Delaware's Changing Winter Landscapes" features drawings and paintings from the collections of the Delaware Historical Society, the New Castle community, and the Washington Society of Landscape Painters.
The exhibit showcases local winter scenes from the nineteenth century until today and asks us how we can best steward Delaware’s landscapes for future generations.
Artwork will be displayed throughout the Read House alongside dried floral arrangements sourced directly from the gardens and carefully crafted by staff for the holiday season.
The exhibit opens on December 14 with our annual LIT for the Holidays celebration, featuring live music, caroling, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres.
Enjoy live music from Delaware’s own Bruce Anthony and caroling by the Vocal Points, catering by Toscana, complimentary beer and wine, and the locally-sourced holiday decorations of the National Historic Landmark Read House & Gardens.
The exhibit will be on display December 15 – 29, 2024.
