Usher in the Holiday Season with our annual family-friendly sing along with the Diamond State Concert Band at First Unitarian Church.
The Diamond State Concert Band, directed by Fred Litkofsky, is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing free community concerts and the opportunity for musicians to practice their skills.
In existence for 48 years, they have performed more than 400 concerts to a total audience in excess of 750,000 in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Diamond State Concert Band was founded in 1976 by Alfred J. Belak as the Mt. Pleasant Community Band. The first rehearsals were at Mt. Pleasant High School and, with 35 members, they performed their first concert on July 4, 1976 in Claymont, Delaware. In 1984, the band changed its name to Diamond State Concert Band to better reflect the regional nature of its membership and audience.
Bring your friends and family to experience the warmth of the holiday season with a joyful afternoon of listening and singing along to familiar tunes.
Free admission - there will be a reception including holiday goodies following the concert.
Child care will be provided.
First Unitarian Church is accessible to persons with disabilities.
