22nd Annual Judged Show
Visit Mispillion Art League between January 21 and March 29 to see their 22nd Annual Judged Show. This display features artwork in a variety of materials and styles by league members. Stop into the gallery during regular opening hours for a free, creative outing.
All are invited to the opening reception on Friday, January 24th between 5:00 and 6:30. Enjoy refreshments and check out the award winners! This event is free and open to the public.
Awards will be given and categorized by medium. This year’s judge is Deb Hansen. Hansen retired in 2020 as Education Associate for Visual & Performing Arts and Gifted Programs at the Delaware Department of Education. A graduate of the University of Delaware with a BFA in printmaking, Deb taught visual arts for 12 years before moving into administration in 2000. In 2008 Deb became president of the State Education Agency Directors of Arts Education. She also served on the leadership team of the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards. In 1996 Hansen was named Delaware’s Visual Art Educator of the Year and twenty years later was named national supervisor-administrator by the National Art Education Association. In 2020 Deb was honored to receive the Peggy Amsterdam Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts by the Delaware State Arts Council. She currently is a member of the boards of the Delaware Arts Alliance and the Biggs Museum of American Art. She resides in Lewes, DE where she is recreating her printmaking and textile studio.
