The Comic Book Artists and Creators of Delaware is a collective of independent comic creatives brought together with the goal of making independent comic artistry more visible. The mission began in the minds of partners Andre Jones and Demitrius Bullock. They created an annual event where Comic lovers, sci-fi enthusiasts, Comic collectors, Cosplayers, electronic and role playing gamers can all come together to sell their wares, learn about opportunities and perhaps collaborate on projects together. Mr. Bullock is a wonderfully talented artist/graphic designer, who helped his son Bryce bring the characters Daddy Longlegs and the Inchworm to life. Mr. Jones along with being a 2023 Delaware Division of the Arts Opportunity Grant recipient (visual arts) was also the 2013 Delaware Division of the Arts Emerging Artist Fellow in playwriting. The comic event this year is being done in connection with Mr. Jones' Metaphorical Imagery: The Intersection Between Hip-hop Lyricism and Superheroes Art Exhibit. (At the Grand July 5th-August 31st.) Â The first two years the event took place at Artzscape 205 N. Market Street Wilmington, DE 19801. Both years were a good beginning and showed steady growth. And so, this year we are bigger and better. Sadly, Artzscape has closed as a venue. But, the Second street Loma Lofts and The Cooper saw the benefit of our first two years and have graciously allowed us to stay in the Market Street location with an outdoor festival! That said, we anticipate a huge boon of artistry, collaboration , business and community uplift as a result of the festival.Â
