Bowers Beach Buccaneer Bash
Pirates are arriving, in Bowers Beach, for their 13th year, Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25, in Watermen’s Park. The opening ceremony is at 10 am on Saturday. An authentic pirate encampment, music, exhibits, demonstrations, and many family-friendly activities will fill Saturday and Sunday from 10-5, at this FREE event. Dress up and enter the children’s costume contest or pet the animals from The Little Farm. Added this year is The Whyrates with music and science for adults and children, entertainment from Pirates of Fortunes Folly, and a treasure hunt with Twilight Escapes. As usual there will be food, drink and modern and period vendors.
The Bowers Beach Maritime Museum opens, for the season, on Friday May 23, at 6pm. There is a new exhibit and a few surprises to unveil. It will be open 10-5, during the weekend, as part of the Scavenger Hunt.
